The finishing touches are applied to 200-year-old coronation robes belonging to the Duke of Wellington, which will be going on display at Apsley House in London this weekend. The Duke wore the robes to the lavish coronation of King George IV in 1821 and expert conservators have spent three months restoring the historic garments to mark the coronation of King Charles III. Apsley House is home to the Dukes of Wellington, and the robes can be viewed among items of the Wellington Collection which is cared for by English Heritage. The temporary display will be in place until October 2023.
