Sir Ben Ainslie's AC45 foiling catamaran is moored beside Admiral Lord Nelson's flagship, HMS Victory at the Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth on the first evening of the America's Cup World Series which runs until Sunday.
The world's oldest sporting trophy has not been contested in British waters until now.
Ainslie's team, Land Rover BAR, hope to wrestle it back from the current holders Oracle Team USA.
