Fred Olsen Cruises' ship Balmoral sits idle and empty of passengers in Southampton today after the cruise line temporarily ceased sailings until 23rd May due to the ongoing Coronavirus/Covid 19 pandemic. Like the tourism industry generally, cruise lines are suffering high levels of cancellations and many ports are refusing ships entry. Australia has banned international cruise ship arrivals for 30 days and New Zealand have banned entry to its territorial waters for three months.
