British Olympian Katarina Johnson-Thomson arrives as thousands gathered at Liverpool’s Pier Head for the naming of Cunard’s newest ship, Queen Anne. The event featured performances by Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and unveiled the City of Liverpool as the ship's godparent. Five Liverpool icons, including Melanie C and Olympian Katarina Johnson-Thomson, were on stage to represent the city.
People gathered outside of Liverpool’s iconic Pier head as Cunard unveiled the City of Liverpool as godparent of its newest ship, Queen Anne. Five Liverpool icons including Melanie C and British Olympian Katarina Johnson-Thomson were invited onto the stage to represent the city. These women were chosen for their significant contributions to culture at a local, national or international level.
Today, Melanie C, joined four other Liverpool icons at Liverpool’s Pier Head to celebrate the City of Liverpool being named godparent for Cunard’s newest ship Queen Anne.
